ANDROID 4.0.3 FIRMWARE UPGRADE
1- Please email Technical Support to provide you with the link to download the Firmware.
2- The firmware file package contains following 7 files.
3- Put these 7 files (don’t open any of the zip files) on an SD card. Do not create any folders in the card, above files must be downloaded directly to the card. Make sure there are no other files on the SD Card except for the above mentioned 7 files. Once all the 7 files are downloaded, insert the card in the SD Card slot of the Media Box and follow the upgrading instructions below.
4- With the Media Box turned off and unplugged, insert a paperclip to press the reset key which is at back of the Media Box and hold it, while turning the power on by plugging the power to the Media Box.
5- While holding the reset key and powering on the Media Box, wait for the two LEDs on the front (Blue & Red) to flash 3 times, release reset key after the third flash.
6- Media box will power on and the system will automatically start to upgrade. (Make sure power is not interrupted during the upgrading process).
7- After process bar goes to end (Be patient, this will take several minutes),there will be the following message shown on your screen, don’t worry, this info. is correct. Since every device only has one unique mac address, the upgrading process cannot change it.
8- Power off your device. And repeat steps (1) thru (8) again.
9- After process bar goes to end, the same message will be displayed on your screen.
10- Restart your Media Player, without holding the reset button this time. You now have the 4.0.3 firmware installed. To confirm go to System - Settings - About Media Player (you should see the Firmware Version as 4.0.3)
11- Once the system is upgraded you will need to install some essential applications. Once the box is powered up, navigate to the internet from the box and type the following URL in the browser.
12- Install Android TV Launcher and the other applications listed under each category on the above link.
The purpose of the TV launcher is to help the user find easily the applications he/she wants. For this we have divided all the applications into 7 categories:
There are 7 circled icons at the bottom of the screen and selecting an icon will open above a matrix that will show the applications that belong to this category, as in the following screenshot:
The user can assign various applications to different categories. This is done by selection the + green sign at the top right of the applications matrix as shown above. When the + is selected, the following pop-up window will open and each application can be selected or unselected for the specific category. To be saved, the OK button must be confirmed.
When new applications are downloaded and installed, they are recognized by the launcher only after power up or selecting Menu->Reload. The newly installed applications are displayed by default under the APPS category. User can “move” them to be displayed under any other category.
An application can be displayed under one or more categories. The APPS category is the only category where user cannot assign applications but they are automatically assigned to APPS only if they are not assigned to any other category.
Navigation to select different category or to select an application within the category matrix can be done by the mouse or by the remote control arrows.
Following Apks are required on the Media Box for the operation of various TV and Movies related functions, these Apks come preloaded in the Media Box.
Note: The following Flash Player and Youtube APKs are exclusive to our box, DO NOT UPGRADE it to any other version or download from Playstore.
Following Apks are optional and at user's discretion
